This is a courtesy English translation of terms originally written in Portuguese. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
Vox Probabilis Academic is a comparative prosodic-analysis instrument intended for educational contexts. It is not a forensic device, not a polygraph, not an expert-examination instrument, not judicial evidence. The outputs are descriptive of prosodic consistency across procedural phases and do not constitute a binary classification of truthfulness.
Use of Academic is restricted to the following purposes: classroom teaching, academic research, individual study, and pedagogical preparation. Use as evidence in ongoing proceedings, in expert opinions submitted to a court, or in any document intended to produce legal effects in active proceedings is prohibited.
Academic's outputs may not be incorporated into court filings, expert opinions submitted to a court, or any document intended to produce legal effects in ongoing proceedings. Academic is a pedagogical instrument; applying it to live case material constitutes misuse.
At the moment of upload, the user declares that the analyzed material is from a public hearing or one already final and unappealable, and contains no matter covered by judicial secrecy, minors' confidentiality, or family confidentiality, under the terms of the eligibility declaration. The service operator is not responsible for misuse of the material submitted by the user.
The voice is sensitive personal data under the General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13.709/2018), Art. 11. The legal basis for processing is the academic-purpose exception set out in Art. 7, item IV, of the LGPD, combined with the eligibility declaration provided by the user at the moment of upload. The user accepts that the material is processed for academic purposes. Raw audio is discarded within 60 seconds of processing; only numeric features (no semantic content) are retained per the retention policy of the contracted plan.
All of Academic's numeric outputs can be reproduced by the user by running the open-source pipeline available in the GitHub repository over the same audio. This is the service's integrity guarantee: there is no black box, proprietary scoring, or hidden weights. The methodology is documented at DOI 10.5281/zenodo.19396809.
To settle any questions arising from these Terms of Use, the venue of the District (Comarca) of Porto Seguro, State of Bahia, is elected, with express waiver of any other, however privileged.
